For our Audience Feedback we decided that we would gather it in a range of techniques, we decided that we would post it on Facebook and see what responses we would get. We also decided to ask people who are in our target market and who are not in our target market and ask them what they thought of it. We got a lot of positive feedback and some negative feedback which has helped us to know what we need to improve on next time.

Evaluation Point 7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
This is our group discussing how we improved from our preliminary task to our final edit

Evaluation point 5 How did you attract/address your audience?
In this point we have annotated our final edit and we have described how we have attracted our audience on to the film.
Evaluation Point 1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
There are 9 screen shots of our film including:
The title
The setting
Costumes
Camera work and editing
Font and Style
Story/Narrative
Genre /Suggestions of genre
Characters
Special FX
This is the title of our film and we chose to present it in
this way as it fits in with the indie, retro feel of our film…the peeling paint
of the wall and the muted colours. The bold font, use of capitals and white
colour all make the words of the title stand out and easy to read. The viewer
will realise immediately that ‘THESE STREETS’ is our film title.
The setting of our film is a town and this shot show the
skyline of an urban area. There is no great detail shown but the viewer will
realise that it could be anywhere and that what happened in our film could take
place in any town or city.
This third shot show a homeless youth. I chose it because it
illustrates all the misery of life on the streets. The costume is carefully
selected and is fairly stereotypical…the hat, the inadequate clothing and a rug
for warmth. He is sitting on a newspaper with a cup to collect money for his
guitar playing and instead of a sign asking for money, we put the costume
designer’s name on it.
The fourth shot is for extra effect and is a high angle
camera shot. It shows someone about the same age as the homeless boy giving him
money. It is effective because it shows
the contrast between them, in clothing and circumstances.
The fifth shot tells a different part of the story……….
The sixth shot is important because it show more contact
between the boys and hints at the importance of music to them both and to the
genre of the film. The prop of the guitar is important as the poorer boy is
handing it over to the other to look at it or play it. This shows that they are
having more contact, through music and may even become friends.
This shot shows one of the main characters and also his
name. It is a low angle shot which is in contrast to most of the shots and also
gives an idea of what the view of life is like from the homeless boy’s
perspective.
The last shots show the use of some special effects. We used
overlapping of a scene from a festival crowd onto a shot of the wealthier boy
going down a rather grand staircase. We also used a loud voiceover and the
combination of screaming noise and busy scene is effective in catching the
audience’s attention.

Point 38 Re-Shoots and Pick-Ups
As a group we have looked over our rough edit and decided to re- shoot some of the clips as one of them was unfocused. We also need to shoot some other clips to make the opening scene make more sense, this is because we thought that it jumped to quickly from the two different backgrounds.

Point 35 Plan
Plan:
The plan for our short film is to have someone acting a homeless person sat on some steps or just on the ground playing a guitar well. Then, we will have someone who is quite wealthy and can sing very well. He sings in choirs and plays classical music. The wealthy boy then runs away from home and comes across the homeless person in the street, who is playing his guitar. The wealthy boy and the homeless person eventually come together and start making music on the street. Pedestrians stop and listen to the music and really like it. The two musicians become close friends and decide to try and get signed, but have no luck. They go through a lot together, such as heavy drug use, but they still carry on making music together, until they are noticed by a minor music label. The wealthy boy manages to persuade his parents to give them a start-up fund so that they can make it big in the music world. Eventually, the boys make it big and play music everywhere, including some very well-known festivals.

Point 34 Casting Shots
We have chosen these four people to be certain characters in our film. The man on the left is Mr McNeil, he will be acting the wealthy parent of the boy second from the left, Tommy Chadwick. Tommy is acting a young wealthy boy, who is very musically talented. The boy in the picture second from the right is Pie Borderie, he will be acting the homeless boy. And the woman in the far right picture is Mrs McNeil, she will be acting the wealthy mother of the wealthy son and is married to the wealthy man in the left picture.
We chose Mr and Mrs McNeil to be the wealthy parents because they are very capable actors and they both look slightly like Tommy, who will be acting their son.
We chose Tommy to be the wealthy boy because he is also a good actor and he can also sing and play the guitar well.
Pie was chosen as he too, is a good actor with a good singing voice. He can also play the guitar well.

Risk Assessment- Point 33
Risks for our film will be fairly limited. However this being said risks must be taken into account.
Tripping– Some of the filming locations will have hazardous conditions underfoot an could result in injury.
Broken Glass- we will be using glass in our filming which could potentially smash if mishandled.
Getting a Cold- cold conditions coupled with a poor immune system could result in- a potentially fatal- cold.

Shooting Locations- Point 32
These are photos taken from Elgin and from school, where we are going to film.
We chose Elgin because we found some dark alleyways and cool places to film the homeless character and we thought it would look good. We could really imagine where things would happen and take place in the photos we took.
We chose Gordonstoun house to be the wealthy boys home, as it is large and quite upper class. We also chose the music practice room and the recording studio in the music department. This is where most of the music will take place when the wealthy boy and the homeless boy come together.

Point 29- Our Moving Sound
In the clip that we are creating our group has decided to have a soundtrack through the whole of the clip, we have got the soundtrack from freeplaymusic.com. We have chosen the song Empty Chair by Eliot Pistor we decided to pick this song because it will fit our genre of independent film about music, this is because the song is indy and dramatic. We are not just going to use this for our sound because we are also going to add sounds that relate to the scene.
